Jamie Vardy demonstrates incomparably poor performance in 2016

One year later: where Jamie Vardy went down after the eternal record

Last season gave real sensation to the number one game’s fans – the Leicester’s championship victory. In today’s football world full of big money and backroom intrigues, such a small club as a champion of England is truly a miracle. Triumphant season for Foxes was fantastic, not only for the fans and the team as a whole, but also for Leicester striker – Jamie Vardy.

The 29-year-old striker has experienced not the most star-filled career, and never referred to the “top” category players.

Moreover, no one thought Jamie to be even above an average player – just an ordinary player in an ordinary club. Nevertheless, Vardy managed to make a breakthrough in the game last year, having achieved fame as one of the best strikers in Europe.

The Englishman scored 24 goals in the Premier League series. He has conceded only one goal in the fight for the title to the top scorer in the championship Sergio Aguero.

About a year ago, during this period Jamie broke, it should seem, an eternal record of Ruud Van Nistelrooy, scoring in 11 games at a run.

Vardy showed a truly brilliant season of 2015-2016, however, what is going on with him now?

Leicester’s striker not just stopped scoring. Now even shots on goal became something unattainable for him. Jamie has already got 607 minutes without shots on target, remaining a major player of the Foxes at that.

His last goal in the Premier League Vardy scored on September, 10 in a match against Liverpool. His team failed miserably, having lost with a crushing score of 1: 4.

In the Champions League, the Englishman failed to score at least any goal in 5 football battles.

At the national level, Jamie scored recently – on November, 15 in the match between England and Spain (2: 2).  Vardy’s statistics at club level is a real disaster.

Total of the season 2016-2017 there are only 3 scored goals for Leicester on striker’s account. The only one question raises now  – what is going on with Jamie?

One of the arguments that can justify Jamie –  the lack of good performance of Foxes in general, which does not allow any particular player to express himself. Perhaps, N’golo Kante’s leaving the team influenced the team and, in particular, Vardy that obviously weakened the reigning English champions.

It is likely that Jamie’s dead-drop is based on the psychological aspect that  the Leicester striker struggles to overcome.
