It was unexpectedly hard for the current World Cup Champions to qualify to the World Cup 2016 after several play-off matches. The participation of German National Team was under the question mark up to the final play-off rounds as Poland and Ireland turned out a very decent and strong opponents. As for the Friendlies, Germany doesn’t impress at all with their 3 losses, a draw and a victory after the end of the World Cup qualification.
The English team significantly transformed and look really solid after their total failure in the World Cup. It refers at least to their official matches. England won 10 play-off matches of the Group and qualified from the 1st place to the World tournament. The Friendlies don’t look so impressive with the English team ( 2 victories, 2 draws and a loss), but they have always played with the strongest European rivalries ( Spain, France and Italy).
The last 7 matches of Germany saw plenty of goals, besides scoreless match against Gibraltar. The English counterparts played a clean sheet only once within the same number of rounds, so they are most likely to score at least once in Berlin.
