Arsenal bosses can sell midfielder Mesut Ozil if the player does not reduce the salary demands
The Gunners’ bosses are interested in extending the contract with the midfielder Mesut Ozil the next summer, reports The Telegrpah. However, the main obstacle might be the salary amount of the star playmaker. Some sources claim that both Ozil and the team striker Alexis Sanchez wish to receive £20 mln annually.
Moreover, other clubs can be also interested in the player, including Real Madrid. The Whites are considering player purchase who has already played with the team from 2010 to 2013. Ozil himself is not against the transfer to Madrid club, due to some hesitation about his future as a part of the Londoners.
Despite it, Arsenal doesn’t mind increasing the player’s salary. According to mass media, the Gunners bosses can offer him £200k weekly.
The club contract of the 28-year-old Ozil expires in the summer of 2018. At the moment, the Arsenal midfielder receives £150k a week.
Ozil is a key team player this season. He played 19 games and scored 8 goals for the Gunners.
